Q: Which brand is better for sensitive skin to remove deep brown spots: MD Formulations Alpha/Beta Gel 50% or MD Forte Glycolic Peel & Solution at 70% or 99%?
A: Both might be too harsh for sensitive skin because of the high concentration of glycolic acid. Instead, you should look for gentler formulas. For instance, try SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Gel, which is especially formulated for sensitive skin to reduce the appearance of brown spots. Other effective options include the DDF Intensive Holistic Lightener and Dr. Michelle Copeland Pigment Formula. Lastly, if you don’t receive the results you desire or still experience irritated skin, consult a dermatologist about at-home and in-office treatments. -Ed.

I am 26 years old. Could you kindly tell me if a plumping cream would be suitable in my age? Are there any side effects of using a plumping cream in this age?
Z.A. London, UK
Although a plumping cream won't harm the skin of a 26 year old, they aren't really targeted to someon in your age range. Unless your skin has a lot of sun damage, loss of tone, rough texture and deeper lines and wrinkles (fairly uncommon for a typical 26 year old), you simply may not see any 'result' by using a plumping cream because you have no wrinkles to plump!
Instead of a plumping cream, invest your money in an anti-oxidant treatment product, such as a vitamin C serum, to both protect your skin from future damage, as well as help restore and reverse any existing damage you may already have, and--don't forget sunblock, an absolute must for skin at any age, particularly someone with young skin.

What credentials should a spa performing body wraps have. Or should their be a certain level of experience of operators that are applying the wraps to their clients have before they charge full price?
-M.O. Flint, MI
It is important to find out if a spa has a licensed, professional esthetician on their staff to perform the body wraps. This individual must have a license on display somewhere in the spa that shows what services they provide and should only practice the services listed in their license/certificiation. Body wraps tend to be categorized under massages/skin treatments but it never hurts to ask for clarification of someone's credentials if you aren't completely sure. -Ed.

I just wanted to say thank you for writing this article about the difference between powder and foundation. I'm a first-time makeup user and I couldn't really find any information that bluntly explained which did what. Thanks!

I'm a little confused. Didn't you have an article talking about how good milk is for your skin? This article seems to be saying the opposite.
-T.A. San Luis Obispo, CA
It was tricky to write this part of the article without sounding contradictory. Basically, if you have acne prone skin, it's in your best interest to stay away from milkbased skin care products, milk baths and avoid consuming a lot of milk. So there is no contradiction, just the unfortunate fact that people with this skin type can't indulge in a milk bath! -Ed.
