Your article on keloid scars was pretty scary. How do you know if you have it in your family?
    -M.G.
    Orinda, CA

You can make an appointment with your doctor and he/she can do a test of your family's medical history. If you haven't been suffering from any of the symptoms thus far, you should be clear. But if you want to make sure, it doesn't hurt to consult your doctor.

Thanks for writing your article on underarm discoloration. It's pretty embarrassing to have this but it was good to know that I could read about this condition and ways to treat it. I'm planning on getting skin bleaching done. Any suggestions?
    -L.T.
    Flagstaff, AZ

Skin bleaching definitely is an option, but it is still important to do your homework and research each method and talk about it with your doctor. Many of the procedures listed in the article don't apply to everyone since every person's skin is different. Any kind of cosmetic procedure should be carefully thought out.

I just wanted to say "thank you" for writing the article about skin care and pregnant mothers. I just gave birth to my first child two months ago and I've been having problems breastfeeding. I'm still embarrassed to talk to my doctor about it, but after reading Ms. Mallette's article, now I have a little bit more knowledge and will be seeing my doctor soon.

No matter how embarrassing it may seem, you should never have any qualms about talking to your doctor. As you've learned from the article, a woman's body goes through so many changes and you can't be expected to know everything that is happening to you. Glad to know you enjoyed the article!

I read your article on plastic surgery for guys and actually was interested in getting some liposuction done. I already practice good skin care but know that plastic surgery will take me to the next level. Are there any places that you could recommend?
    -X.N.
    Monterey, CA

Since we are based out of Sacramento, we don't know too many places in the Monterey area. I would recommend checking out the web site for American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at www.surgery.org. There, you can locate a surgeon in your area.

In your article, under the melting eye makeup mistake, you didn't mention anything about using mineral makeup as one of the solutions. I've been using it for two years now and it really helps keep my makeup from melting in hot weather.
    -G.D.
    Chicago, IL

Mineral makeup works for some but not for others. The solutions provided are meant for the general public. In doing research for the article, the mineral makeup solution seemed to be too few and far in between to be included. But that's great that it works for you!
