After earning his degree at The Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Dr. Murad attended the University of California at Irvine Medical School. He completed his rotating internship in New York at Queens Hospital. From there, Dr. Murad joined the service as a General Medical Officer for the United States Army, where he received a Bronze Star for his service as a battalion surgeon in Vietnam. From 1969 to 1972, he completed his dermatology residency at the Veteran's Administration Hospital at UCLA.
When it comes to measuring the success of Murad's skincare, the results speak for themselves. Dr. Murad is author of Wrinkle-Free Forever, which launched in bookstores across the country in April 2004. He has appeared on The Today Show, CNN, The View and a multitude of health and wellness programs across the world, sharing his unique Cellular Water Principle® concept for overall health.
In spring of 2005, Dr. Murad's second book, The Cellulite Solution debuted, capturing his breakthrough findings that "cellulite is a skin problem, not a fat problem." Dr. Murad introduced a topical and internal program scientifically proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite by up to 69 percent and encourage skin firmness by up to 78 percent.
Dr. Murad specializes in tailoring his treatments to the individual. By 1989 he had treated nearly 10,000 of his own patients with alpha hydroxy acid formulas specifically formulated for acne and oily skin, aging skin and pigmentation concerns. This led to the development of his first three products: Oily Prone Skin Formula, Skin Smoothing Cream and Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Gel.
