FAQs

Q: How often does luggage really get lost? I know it sounds silly to worry about losing skincare products, but a lot of the serums and anti-aging treatments I have are actually really expensive and lo

A: Losing items on your journey is common, whether the airline misplaces your luggage or you forget your favorite cleanser in the hotel room. While most items are replaceable, it’s wise to consider leaving your pricier serums and treatment products at home, or bringing just a small amount with you in a separate travel-sized container. No matter how much you love using the product on a daily basis, your skin will be fine for a week without it.

Q: I’m really bad about packing for trips because I never know which outfit I’ll want to wear until I actually get there! This means that usually I pack too much makeup, too. How can I minimize withou

A: Instead of trying to “match,” go with a looser color scheme when you’re traveling. Choose tops that will go with a variety of looks, a cute skirt and your favorite jeans. As for makeup, stick to pretty natural shades – this way, you won’t have to worry about anything clashing. You can’t go wrong with a nude colored lipstick, taupe eye shadow, classic black mascara and a sweep of bronzer.

Q: I have really thick, long hair and it takes forever to dry! Whenever I go on vacation, I end up washing it less frequently because I don’t want to make my friends wait on me. Is it bad to skip wash

A: It probably won’t hurt your hair at all – in fact, over washing is more of a problem than not washing enough. If your roots look greasy, try a dry shampoo like Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, which is designed to absorb all that excess oil at the roots and keep your hair smelling fresh.

Q: I usually apply my perfume to my clothes, instead of on the surface of skin. Is this right?

A: It’s always best to apply directly to skin. Christopher Sheldrake, deputy perfumer for Chanel in Paris explains to Cosmopolitan that the scent of your perfume depends on the chemistry and temperature of your skin: "This method creates an alchemy between the skin and the perfume, which is going to express the scent in a more personalized way. On the skin, the perfume gets warmer — it rises with your temperature, which isn't the case of a perfume applied directly on clothes.”
