While anti-aging used to be something women didn't think about until their late twenties or early thirties, companies are now starting to market products to a younger crowd.
According to an article by Jezmine Zaidan in The New Straits Times Online, women in their twenties face an increased challenge of balancing friends, family and career, all of which can take a huge toll on the skin. Zaidan points out that the skin is at its prime during the early 20's, but will begin to decline shortly after. Stress factors from constant lifestyle changes such as travel, poor diet, insufficient exercise and sleep deprivation all lead to dehydration. Early intervention is needed to prevent these factors from contributing to wrinkles and other signs of premature aging.
To address these concerns, skin care company SK-II recently introduced SK-II Aqua Physics, a product line meant specifically for women in their twenties. Says assistant brand manager Kathryn Velaso, "It was time to create a new line for women in their twenties, and for the brand to expand to a new age group, making SK-II available for everyone." A new approach to hydration, the goal is a product that goes beyond basic moisturization, "It nourishes the skin with proper hydration and helps fight the onset of ageing," says Velaso.
SK-II Aqua Physics contains pitera, a vitamin and mineral-rich yeast filtrate of sake, which restores and renews the skin. The hydrating gel also contains aqua cycle active, intended to supply the skin with constant moisture all day long. Neither cream nor gel, this unique formula is designed to form a thin layer on the skin that actually prevents moisture from escaping and the entire SK-II product line will be available in all major department stores beginning in January.
