Company history

Astara was formed in 1997 by Sunny Griffin, a former international supermodel and director of beauty and fashion for Avon Products, Inc. After moving to arid Colorado, she noticed that the weather was taking a tough toll on her skin, causing dryness and accelerating aging. This inspired her to create a truly natural skincare line to address these concerns, giving birth to Astara.

Ingredient selection and preparation

When formulating its skincare products, Astara chooses only the finest essential oils and extracts from organically-grown plants, flowers, fruits and herbs. And unlike other companies, Astara’s ingredients are carefully prepared in a way that avoids artificial processing and overheating. These methods tend to deplete the ingredients of their beneficial qualities. Astara never heats plant extracts above 105 degrees Fahrenheit, which ensures maximum potency and efficacy.
